Crawford Selected as Tourism Marketing Agency for NC’s Brunswick Islands

Crawford was recently selected by the Brunswick County Tourism Development Authority to be its marketing agency. Crawford will provide strategic marketing for the area’s collection of islands and towns along the southern coast of North Carolina, including Sunset Beach, Ocean Isle Beach, Holden Beach, Oak Island, Caswell Beach, Bald Head Island, Leland, Shallotte, Southport, and Calabash. Crawford was selected after participating in an extensive RFP process that included some of the industry’s most well-known travel and tourism marketing agencies.

“We are fortunate to serve and support some of the best clients in the five industries Crawford focuses on,” said Andy Windham, president and chief strategy officer at Crawford. “Our team is passionate about destination marketing and we are thrilled to be able to help more people make lasting memories in the Brunswick Islands.”

Crawford has a proven track record of success with travel and tourism marketing for coastal and mountain destinations, cities and towns, and hotels and attractions. The agency’s team has experience with more than 40 clients in the travel and hospitality space. Since 2015, Crawford has served as agency of record for the Haywood County, North Carolina Tourism Development Authority and has helped that Smoky Mountain destination achieve some of its most successful milestones to date. Crawford also partners with one of South Carolina’s most important historical museum experiences, Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Museum. The Charleston, S.C.-area museum boasts more than one million square feet of hands-on experiences and is home to the USS Yorktown, the USS Laffey, the Congressional Medal of Honor Society’s Medal of Honor Museum, and much more.

“Crawford’s impressive work speaks for itself, but our Board also agreed that Crawford’s culture most closely matched ours, a quality we were hoping to find in our new partner,” said Mitzi York, executive director of the Brunswick County Tourism Development Authority. “We look forward to working together on strategic and creative marketing efforts that will help tell the story of our charming towns, pristine beaches and unique attractions to a wider audience.”
