Insight: If you’ve ever been there, you know North Myrtle Beach is a special collection of classic seaside communities, unexpected adventures, and relationship-fostering accommodations. You can have it all, or you can get away from it all. The challenges Crawford tackled were multiple: refresh the brand with a new positioning, establish brand standards and energize social media to connect with beachgoers.
Vision: Our team captured all the beach experiences and emotions in two simple words: Just Coast®. Because no matter what type of vacation you want, all you have to do to here is just coast.
We discovered that this famous South Carolina beach town, birthplace of the Shag and officially incorporated in 1968, had never had a brand standard for its travel marketing efforts. Our team and the NMB Convention & Visitors Bureau decided that had to change. The result? A comprehensive Brand Guidelines book that outlines the destination’s strategic position, values, voice, and personality.
Regarding social media, Crawford developed a thoughtful strategy that would position their social channels as a trusted source of information, much like their brick-and-mortar Visitors Center on Highway 17 does. Crawford developed key themes that resonated with the brand’s values and focused topic- buckets of different subjects to keep a fresh and steady stream of content.
Outcome: Crawford helped the North Myrtle Beach Convention & Visitors Bureau increase website traffic and grow tourism with digital marketing sunshine. For social, in one year, post volume was up 60%, followers were up 26%, and impressions were up 14% to more than 1 million.
