Crawford Welcomes Three Spring Interns

We are excited to welcome Sophie Catanzaro, Aaron Ritchie, and May Harrelson as interns for the spring of 2022. Crawford offers year-round internship opportunities to college students and recent graduates, allowing them to learn from experienced professionals on a variety of topics related to marketing, social media, public relations, and more.

“The Crawford internship program is something we are proud to offer. By providing valuable real-life experience, experienced mentors, and exposure to the marketing industry, we’re able to make a tangible impact on the next generation of our field,” said Allison Mertens, Senior Vice President of Corporate Growth. “We gain from the experience too – we love having their energy and enthusiasm in the office, and their fresh perspectives are valuable to us as well.”

Greenville native Sophie Catanzaro will support both the accounts and social media teams this spring. She is a senior at Clemson University where she is majoring in Psychology and minoring in Spanish. She was previously a social media and marketing intern for Hall’s Restaurant Group in Charleston, S.C. Catanzaro strives to gain insight into the world of communications by applying her existing knowledge and challenging herself to improve her skills and learn new information that will help her to be successful in her career. Her interests lie in social media and digital communication, but she hopes this internship experience will help her identify her strengths and fields she should pursue following her graduation in May 2022.

Aaron Ritchie, an account services intern at Crawford this semester, is a senior marketing major at Clemson University. He will assist in creating and developing marketing strategies and assist in their implementation. Ritchie has previously worked with Clemson University Athletics to raise awareness for non-revenue sporting events by using digital outlets. In his time at Crawford, he hopes to gain experience in the creative brief process, learn how to communicate with clients, and become more aware of what it means to work in a marketing agency.

May Harrelson

As the public relations intern, May Harrelson assists the PR team and their clients by conducting research on target audiences and media outlets, monitoring the media and news, and drafting and editing written material. She is a May 2021 graduate of Clemson University and is currently pursuing her master’s in strategic communication. In her time at Crawford, Harrelson hopes to gain a better understanding of the role public relations professionals play at marketing agencies, while also being exposed to new opportunities to learn.
